The website of the
Shanghai Jiao Tong University
This recently updated 'Academic Ranking of World Universities' by the Institute of Higher Education in Shanghai offers a well-recognized listing of the top 500 best institutions. The methodology places a strong emphasis on Nobel price winnings by staff and alumni, but only on the science fields. For this reason, the Shanghai Jiao Tong ranking lists mostly the research universities, and not the liberal-arts colleges.
